The first cyber university in Korea

Open Cyber University (OCU) is the first cyber university in Korea that was founded in March 2001 after it was run on a trial basis for two and a half years.

Designated as the best university by Ministry of Education in 2007 (Area of Human Resources)

OCU was selected as the best university based on 21 evaluation indicators such as student's willingness to learn, student loyalty, availability rate of faculty, faculty professionalism, working conditions, availability of staff, and appropriateness of professional personnel.

The largest consortium in Korea

The consortium, comprised of 23 local universities, is the largest, and its solidarity is stronger than any other universities.

The largest educational contents in Korea

OCU, in collaboration with 23 member universities, provides about 400 professional courses to meet various needs of learners, and their excellent contents help raise student satisfaction.

The largest number of learners in Korea

Up to now, the cumulative number of students reaches one million, and 120,000 or so people register for a course at OCU every year.

Excellent, stable educational system

Without the stability of the system operation, there will be no 120,000 learners every year. OCU has the second backup system, which enables OCU to provide seamless services for students even in an emergency.
